In his keynote speech, he took the audience on an inspiring journey back to childhood curiosity \u2013 and thus right into the heart of what we as adults have often lost.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Competition is a thing of the past \u2013 now it&#8217;s questions that count<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Christian Wehner put forward a thesis that is more relevant than ever in the digital age:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u2018Competition based on knowledge is a thing of the past. We need to learn to ask questions again!\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a world where knowledge is available at any time, it is no longer those who know the most who are rewarded \u2013 but those who <strong>ask the better questions<\/strong>. Children do this naturally. They want to understand, not shine. Adults, on the other hand, have often forgotten how to ask questions for fear of appearing ignorant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But Wehner makes it clear: <strong>curiosity is not a risk \u2013 it is the basis of progress.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Naivety as a survival strategy<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-christian-wehner-children-need-naivety-to-survive-adults-kill-naivety-in-order-to-survive\">Christian Wehner: \u2018Children need naivety to survive. Adults kill naivety in order to survive.\u2019<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This statement struck a chord in the room.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Children are allowed to marvel, trust and dream \u2013 they perceive the world with open eyes and hearts. Adults, on the other hand, learn early on to be cautious, rational and efficient. But in doing so, something is lost: the ability to view life playfully, with hope and confidence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Christian Wehner calls on us to <strong>regain this lost naivety as a strength.<\/strong> Because when we allow ourselves to marvel, trust and dream, true creativity \u2013 and humanity \u2013 emerges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Companies want creativity \u2013 but forget the childlike<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Every company today talks about innovation, creativity and \u2018out of the box\u2019 thinking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But what does that really mean?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A creative team needs more than processes, tools and workshops \u2013 it needs people who can <strong>marvel, trust, wonder, dream, question, believe, let go, forgive, hope and play again.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These seemingly simple skills are the basis for everything that constitutes innovation. But we have <strong>forgotten how to be simple.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Back to kindergarten \u2013 not backwards, but forwards<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Christian Wehner&#8217;s lecture was not a nostalgic look back, but a call to bring the child in us back to life \u2013 not to relinquish responsibility, but to bear it with more ease and openness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Because when we look at the world <strong>with childlike curiosity and trust again<\/strong>, space is created for new things: in companies, in relationships, in thinking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Wehner&#8217;s message <\/strong>and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/4oqXpxT\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">book <\/a><\/strong>(in german) of the same name:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>\u2018Everything you need to know in life, you learned in kindergarten.
