With this sentence, Eva Ries<\/strong> sums up her extraordinary journey \u2014 from a young photographer from Mannheim to the manager of one of the most legendary hip-hop projects in history, to psychologist, lecturer, and keynote speaker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For her, music was never just entertainment \u2014 it was an expression of identity, culture, and change. And she didn’t use her role to stay in the background, but to help shape things.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From small format to global sound \u2013 the journey begins<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eva Ries grew up in Mannheim \u2013 a young woman with a camera, an interest in creative scenes and a desire to see more than her immediate surroundings. As she herself says in interviews, a scholarship to the USA opened her eyes to a world that is bigger than one thinks \u2013 \u201cI saw more than I knew, and that shaped me.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

With this openness and curiosity, she moved into the music industry \u2014 first as a photographer, then in marketing and promotion for major labels in New York. Eva Ries and the Wu-Tang Clan: The school of reality<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

It was no coincidence that Eva Ries became one of the defining figures in the Wu-Tang Clan’s circle. A German woman who held her own in the rough, often male-dominated US hip-hop scene \u2014 with backbone, intelligence, and an unshakeable belief in values.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her role was multifaceted: management, organization, crisis support, communication \u2014 all at once. In one of her many statements, she describes the time as follows: \u201cSometimes I was an agent, sometimes a counselor, sometimes a translator \u2014 what today would be called a boardroom.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the 1990s and 2000s, she accompanied the crew through rise, conflicts, successes, and setbacks. After more than 25 years in the US, Eva Ries returned to Germany \u2014 with a backpack full of experiences, stories, and a new focus: psychology, education, and reflection. She became managing director of RZA Productions Europe, a psychology lecturer, and began to reflect on her experiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2022, she published her book Wu-Tang is Forever \u2014 a relentless, honest documentation of her time with the Wu-Tang Clan. In it, she describes not only successes, but also conflicts, mistakes, opportunities, and new beginnings. “This book is not a glorious chapter. It is a testimony \u2014 to culture, change, and humanity,” she said upon its publication.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
