He has extensive knowledge of small and medium-sized businesses from his many years as a business journalist, conducts 300 interviews a year, and served as a managing director himself for four years. He also worked in the C-suite at the management and human resources consulting firm Kienbaum.

Today, his mission, in a nutshell, is to help those who take on responsibility in their jobs in various ways – especially when it comes to communication issues. Born in 1980, this family man advises companies on issues of internal communication and executive communication. This often involves situations where communication becomes particularly challenging: during change, growth, transformation, new strategies, crises, or when leadership must provide direction. His strength lies in quickly grasping complex issues, asking the crucial questions, and bringing different perspectives together.

Thorsten Giersch: Experienced Moderator for Business Events

He moderates conferences, panel discussions, and corporate events. His moderation style is therefore more than just a series of prepared questions: Giersch understands the issues facing his audience and is familiar with the practical challenges that executives and small-to-medium-sized businesses face.

More than ever, providing value is also a key part of his journalistic work: After about 20 years in leadership roles at n-tv, Markt und Mittelstand, and the Handelsblatt, he struck out on his own as a publisher in October 2026. With Inventuro, he developed a novel medium tailor-made for small and medium-sized businesses in the age of AI. In his podcast “Komm in meine Welt” (Come Into My World), he talks with leaders and entrepreneurs about why it’s worth taking on responsibility. In “Beyond Books,” authors of business non-fiction books share their insights.

His focus: communication, leadership, change, and small and medium-sized businesses – well-researched, grounded in real-world practice, and with a keen understanding of the people involved.

Thorsten Giersch is a journalist, publisher, host, and communications consultant.
