On the public service radio station SRF 1, he is part of the morning team and regularly presents the morning programme, including the popular audience quiz \u2018Morgenstund hat Gold im Mund\u2019. On television, his work includes presenting the home and lifestyle programme \u2018Wer wohnt wo?\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-sven-epiney-a-versatile-presenter-for-tv-live-shows-and-galas\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Sven Epiney \u2013 a versatile presenter for TV, live shows and galas<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sven Epiney is particularly well known as a long-standing SRF commentator for the Eurovision Song Contest: he has been covering the music competition year after year for Swiss television since 2008 and, in 2026 in Vienna, presented the live shows for the 18th time. In 2025, he also served as the official Swiss spokesperson during the scoring. To mark the broadcast of the ESC in Switzerland in 2025, he also hosted the new Saturday evening show \u201cESC-Mania\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Another fixture in his calendar is the SRG SSR\u2019s national 1 August broadcast: in 2026, Epiney hosted the celebrations live from Lucerne alongside colleagues from all four language regions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">His best-known previous programmes include the cookery show \u201cal dente\u201d, the quiz show \u201c5 gegen 5\u201d and \u201cDie gr\u00f6ssten Schweizer Hits\u201d \u2013 programmes that have made the Valais-born presenter a household name.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Awards and Career<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 2003, he was awarded the Swiss Oscar, the \u2018Prix Walo\u2019, in the \u2018Audience Favourite\u2019 category; in 2006, he received the \u2018TELE Prize\u2019 for \u2018Best Presenter and Audience Favourite\u2019; and in 2007, he won the \u2018Glanz und Gloria Audience Favourite Award\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Alongside his work as a presenter, Sven Epiney is a self-employed entrepreneur. He is the owner of the production company \u2018Second Unit\u2019, which produces programmes for TV channels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sven Epiney began his radio career as a teenager at the age of 13 at what was then Radio F\u00f6rderband in the federal capital, Bern. As well as speaking the Valais and Bern dialects, the presenter speaks accent-free German and French (having grown up bilingual), as well as English, and can communicate in colloquial Italian.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sven Epiney holds a teaching qualification, studied law for six semesters and now lives in Zurich.
