A fact that still holds true many years later. At the age of six &#8211; on the advice of his grandmother Ida &#8211; he joined the Zurich Boys&#8217; Choir and soon appeared as a soloist in &#8220;The Magic Flute&#8221; and other productions. As a boy soloist he sings at the Salzburg Festival in Puccini&#8217;s &#8220;Tosca&#8221; under Herbert von Karajan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As a high school student he studied singing at the Zurich University of Music &amp; Theatre and founded his first jazz band. Very fortunate circumstances lead to the Swiss jazz pope George Gruntz becoming his first and most important mentor. In 2000, Christian Jott Jenny moved to Berlin, where he trained as a classical tenor with Kammers\u00e4nger Reiner Goldberg at the Hochschule f\u00fcr Musik &#8220;Hans Eisler&#8221;. His production company &#8220;Amt f\u00fcr Ideen&#8221; produces various stage plays and similar productions, which range from classical music (&#8220;Schubertiade&#8221;) to music theater (&#8220;Euse Rainer ch\u00f6nt das au!&#8221;, &#8220;Der kleine schwarze Niederdorf Hecht&#8221; and others) to comedy\/music programs (&#8220;Leo Wundergut &amp; Jet-Set-Singers&#8221;) and offer all kinds of touching and entertaining things. Jenny&#8217;s art is based on the realization that the sublime is a hair&#8217;s breadth from the ridiculous and embarrassing. In 2017, Jenny achieved another success with the open-air play &#8220;Trittligasse&#8221;, on the square on this very alley.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 2007, Christian Jott Jenny founded the &#8220;Festival da Jazz St. Moritz&#8221;. For once he bundles his energy in being a pure producer. With success: year after year Jenny pilots the biggest stars of the scene (Nigel Kennedy, Ahmad Jamal, Chick Corea, Dee Dee Bridgewater and many more) into the small and extremely intimate Dracula Club in St.Moritz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 2018, Jenny stood as a candidate for mayor of St. Moritz, was elected, and held the post until 2026. He handed over the day-to-day running of the festival to his team and remained in an advisory role behind the scenes as its founder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Despite his demanding work as mayor, Christian Jott Jenny still found time in his spare time and in the evenings to attend the odd concert or two.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Christian Jott Jenny is the father of two children and of his renowned fictional character, the socialite tenor Leo Wundergut.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Christian Jott Jenny was born on August 8, 1978.
