Benedikt Böhm – the “5-Premium-Speakers-Questions”

07. September 2018 – Patricia Zoller

There are two worlds in which Benedikt Böhm is active on a daily basis – physical and mental experiences on the edge in extreme sports blend with his life as managing director of the ski touring market-leading brand Dynafit.

What are the core subjects of your keynote speeches?

Benedikt Böhm:

The presentations themselves consist of breath-taking photos as well as short video clips from the extreme world. There are two worlds in which I am active on a daily basis that are fun for me – physical and mental experiences on the edge in extreme sports blend with my life as managing director of the ski touring market-leading brand Dynafit. I will address how I experience and promote innovation in mountaineering (speed vs. a chain of camps in the risk zone) as well as in my company (Dynafit as the leader behind ski touring’s re-emergence). Why does lateral thinking and innovation mean pushing through limits? What are the hurdles and, perhaps even more importantly, what methods have I developed to conquer this? I take the audience along for a ride up a 8,000-meter peak allowing them to experience everything it entails. Success, as well as setbacks, plus spectacular accidents and resistance, getting up on your feet again and pursuing your goal.

Which audience or which branch do you reach with your speech?

Benedikt Böhm:

Who makes up my audience is not at all limited since my content consists of topics that are generally applicable to human existence. My specialty is working with companies of all kinds since my unique selling proposition is the development of an authentic connection between the extreme and business worlds. I am at home in both worlds and find my bookings are predominantly for internal management, sales and marketing meetings as well as for customer events. I speak to all industry segments, at well-known companies, for middle management as well as for current or future hidden champions. But also for the military, farmers, students, at start-up events, and for young management personnel. It is essential to me to remain down-to-earth and approachable.

Why are you a Premium Speaker? Where do you get your insights from?

Benedikt Böhm:

I believe that people learn especially by DOING. I take my insights from praxis as well as from my own experience. Doesn’t matter if all of the experiences pushing the limits and adventuring on the edge are from mountaineering, or from the successes and failures of taking Dynafit from bankruptcy 15 years ago and transforming it into today’s global symbol for the world of ski touring.

What will be in the future? Does 'time' play an important role in your work?

Benedikt Böhm:

Time is the essential factor in my life as speed mountaineer but also as businessman and father of three. Space and time are the biggest luxuries of today’s world and the future. Those people who want to expediently use their time in a complex world must above all else possess the ability of knowing what to skip. The art of omission in connection with time reduction and risk minimization is an elemental component of my presentations.

What is your life motto? What would you like to give your listeners on the way?

Benedikt Böhm:

My goal is make people responsive to themselves and their potential talents. I want to create courage to examine personal goals and the associated risks, boundaries and hurdles using the methodology and lightness of a speed mountaineer so people can summons even more from themselves. I attempt to seduce the audience into an unimaginable world using a high-intensity and tailor-made content. At the same time, I try to inspire them to tackle growing challenges with speed and precision.
