Finally done and the goal achieved – Olympic gold in Paris 2024 in single scull rowing. Three-time world and European champion Olli Zeidler has achieved his sporting goal: to stand at the top of the podium at the Olympic Games.
After dropping out in the semi-finals in Tokyo, he has shown his skill and willpower in recent years to make up for this loss.
With a demonstration of power, rowing world champion Oliver Zeidler reached the Olympic final. The German gold medal candidate confidently entered the final in the men’s single sculls. He won his semi-final by two boat lengths and even slowed down a little at the end.
Oliver Zeidler is writing a unique story. One that only sport can write. And one that rarely happens.
Because his training group disbanded, Oliver Zeidler ended his successful career as a swimmer at the end of 2016. He switched sports and learned how to row from his father Heino Zeidler. The two start their own, very special father-son project and turn the rowing world upside down.
In 2019 – less than three years after sitting in the boat for the first time, he wins everything there is to win – Oliver Zeidler becomes world and European champion. And now Olympic champion at the 2024 Games in Paris.
