It’s Friday afternoon, 5:00 p.m. in Cologne in the business area of the RheinEnergie Stadium. You would think that the e-Commerce Day was already drawing to a close and that the hall in the VIP area would be empty at such a late hour. Far from it: the hall was packed, so that some participants even had to stand in the hall. Highlight of the day: Ralf Rangnick, coach of the Austrian national team and absolute soccer expert, with his presentation. Lecture title: Motivating when things aren’t going well.

After the moderator’s announcement, Ralf Rangnick came on stage and after just three minutes he had won the audience over. So much for “football professor” and dry. The soccer coach inspired the participants with a strong presentation and anecdotes from his 40-year career as a soccer teacher, sports director and coach.
In addition to perfect storytelling, Ralf Rangnick also referred to the current situation in the Bundesliga, the events on and off the pitch. He also talked about how he sees the future of football and drew parallels to other sports, where it is all about speed, tactics and leadership.

After 50 minutes of presentation and 15 minutes of Q&A, there was a standing ovation for the football expert and his sensationally entertaining and educational talk. The subsequent queue for selfies and autographs filled the hall for a long time and the short one-to-one conversations between the participants and Ralf Rangnick took some more time. A successful Friday afternoon in Cologne and satisfied participants of the Kaufland e-Commerce Day.
