Neda Peemüller in the Premium Speakers Interview

18. December 2025 – Mandy Weinand

Neda Peemüller is one of the young faces on German television who successfully combines journalism and entertainment.

She discovered her passion for media at an early age and pursued it consistently – from her first internships to working in front of the camera. After completing her traineeship at ProSieben, she gained experience in both editorial and presenting roles, developing her own style: approachable, professional and authentic.

Since 2022, she has been known to a wide audience as the presenter of the programme ‘taff’, covering current affairs, celebrity news and entertainment with journalistic flair on a daily basis. What sets her apart is her ability to remain confident even in live situations and to turn spontaneous moments into powerful presenting moments. In this interview, she talks about her career, challenges in her everyday work and gives insights into her work in front of and behind the camera.

Neda Peemüller in an interview

How did you become a presenter, and what sparked your interest in this profession?

Neda Peemüller:

My interest in presenting began during an internship at Norddeutscher Rundfunk in ninth grade. After several internships and completing a traineeship at ProSieben, I was able to try my hand at editorial work and in front of the camera, which further deepened my desire to become a presenter. I have been in front of the camera as a presenter on ‘taff’ since 2022. For me, presenting combines journalistic depth with entertainment – conveying content in an exciting, accessible and relevant way to a wide audience inspires me every day.

What were the biggest challenges you faced in your career as a presenter, and how did you overcome them?

Neda Peemüller:

When moderating, things don’t always go as planned. Especially in live situations, unexpected moments can arise. That’s something I had to learn early on in my career. However, you can use these moments to your advantage. For example, by consciously addressing the situation. This allows you to remain confident, authentic and entertaining, even when something unexpected happens. My experience has shown me that many wonderful situations usually arise unplanned on the spot.

What qualities and skills do you consider most important for being a successful presenter?

Neda Peemüller:

A successful presenter is confident, flexible and empathetic – they react spontaneously to situations, remain professional and keep track of everything. At the same time, it is crucial to remain true to yourself, to be authentic and distinctive, but also to know how to adapt to your audience in order to convey content in an approachable, entertaining and relevant way.

How do you prepare for a presentation, and what strategies do you use to remain flexible during an event?

Neda Peemüller:

First, I consult closely with the client to clarify their expectations, wishes and the scope of the facilitation – for example, whether there is a facilitation guide or whether one should be developed together. I then work out the facilitation, noting down important points and possible content that I can contribute.

I remain flexible by having clear guidelines, but adapting to the situation on the spot at any time – for example, if the schedule changes or spontaneous topics arise. This allows me to react confidently while remaining professional and approachable.

Welche Ratschläge würden Sie jemandem geben, der eine Karriere als Moderator anstrebt?

Neda Peemüller:

My most important advice would be: stay curious, authentic and persistent. It is crucial to gain practical experience early on – whether through internships, traineeships or small-scale presenting jobs – and to constantly learn and develop yourself in the process.

It is also important to recognise and strengthen your own personality, because authenticity is what makes a presenter unique. At the same time, you should remain flexible, adapt to different formats and target groups, and learn to deal confidently with unexpected situations.

And last but not least: persevere and don’t get discouraged. Setbacks are part of the learning process and help you to continuously improve.

How do you deal with difficult or unexpected situations during an event?

Neda Peemüller:

As I host a daily live show, I am well-practised in reacting spontaneously to unexpected situations. When technical problems or changes in the schedule arise, I remain calm, keep track of everything and adapt flexibly. I even see the unexpected as an opportunity: it makes the moment special. When appropriate, I also use humour to address the situation in order to engage the audience and keep the atmosphere relaxed.
