Before Applause – Podcast Day

30. June 2026 – Oliver Stoldt

Listening to a podcast and drawing inspiration from it is really exciting and often very informative. But for that to happen, the presenter and host need to put together questions that are topical and relevant.

Yesterday was Podcast Day again, and I had invited five fascinating guests to discuss a range of current topics:

  • Prof. Reto Knutti – Professor at ETH Zurich – Heat and climate change
  • Dr Rolf Pfister – Robotics (he is co-organiser of the Davos Tech Summit)
  • Pascal Kaufmann – Artificial Intelligence (do individual countries need self-sufficient hosting capabilities?)
  • Dani Nieth – Communication and storytelling
  • Dominik Neidhart – Sailor, winner of the America’s Cup (leadership, teamwork and collaboration – America’s Cup 2027)

The interviews always lasted about an hour and featured some fascinating discussions. However, the preparation time required is just as long as the interviews and discussions themselves.

So on Sunday, I researched each individual and wrote my moderator’s notes to ensure I had a clear structure for the conversation.

Our podcast “Before Applause” has got off to a very successful start and, with just 24 episodes to date, we’ve already reached more than three million listeners across our various channels.

Just have a listen – enjoy!
