Kapitänin Nicole Langosch spricht über Führung in komplexen Situationen, über Schiffe und Schlager, über Wasser und Wirtschaft, über Gründen, Machen und Lenken, über Gegensätze, Gemeinsamkeiten, Risiko und Mut – für den individuellen Weg, gegen Konventionen und mit viel Offenheit für Neues.
Obwohl sie in Hessen aufwächst, verspürt Nicole Langosch schon früh eine große Liebe zum Meer und wurde die erste Kapitänin auf einem Kreuzfahrtschiff in Deutschland. Nach dem Abitur 2002 geht sie mit dem klaren Plan, zur See zu fahren, nach Leer und studiert dort Nautik.
Nach ersten Erfahrungen auf Frachtschiffen wird ihr allerdings klar, dass sie ein etwas geselligeres Umfeld möchte. So heuert sie als Offizierin auf einem Kreuzfahrtschiff der AIDA Flotte an. Dort erklimmt sie flott die Karriereleiter und wird mit 34 Jahren die erste weibliche Kapitänin.
„Zum Glück seien die Kollegen offen dafür gewesen, zum ersten Mal mit einer Frau in dieser Funktion zu arbeiten“, sagt sie. Es habe eine gute Team-Atmosphäre geherrscht – auf See das Wichtigste überhaupt: „Das Zusammenspiel ist das, was einen Schiffsbetrieb überhaupt am Laufen hält.
Nach über elf Jahren auf See arbeitet Langosch seit etwas mehr als zwei Jahren wieder an Land – im Hamburger Hafen zuvor als Marine-Superintendent und seit September 2022 als Managing Director bei Hurtigruten Expedition Technical Services GmbH und lebt beruflich wie privat wieder einen „normaleren“ Alltag.
