Cassie Kozyrkov in an interview:
1. What are the core subjects of your keynote speeches?
14. I am on a mission to increase humanity’s excellence at decision-making, since it’s through our decisions that we impact the world around us. If all of us were a little bit better at our decision skills, the effect on the world would be enormous.
Today, decision intelligence has to mean turning information info better actions in any setting and at any scale… which means that true expertise must include the expertise of data and AI. I see AI as a level for human decision-making. It raises the bar and amplifies us. Let’s ensure that what it amplifies is our intelligence, not our mistakes.
2. Which audiance or which branch do you reach with your speech?
Leaders and aspiring leaders are my primary target audience, though my talks are well suited to a general audience and I’m well-loved by engineers. I get a thrill out of filling a room with people of the most diverse backgrounds possible and connecting with all of them.
3. Are you a PREMIUM SPEAKER? Where do you get your insights from?
I was an AI leader before it was cool! As Google’s Chief Decision Scientist, I led the tech giant in its transformation to AI-first. I’m also an AI advisor who has seen a lot of the good, bad, and ugly in tech and I’m a top blogger with a huge following.
4. What will be in the future? Does «time» play an important role in your work?
The fundamental principle of decision-making is scarcity, because if nothing is scarce, there’s no decision to make – you can have it all.
It’s scarcity that creates the need for the kind of expertise that I’ve cultivated over the last two decades… and of all the scarce resources, none is as fleeting and as precious as time.
Time is crucial!
5. Tell us your life motto? What do you want to give your listeners to take with them?
The most powerful decision skill I ever learned was to ask:
“What would it take to change your mind?” and to ask it not only of other people but especially of myself.
It is the career-making habit for the data-driven leader.
