Volker Busch – the “5 Premium Speakers Questions”

16. August 2021 – Mandy Weinand

Volker Busch is a brain health expert, neuromedicine specialist, brain researcher, author and speaker. After brief excursions into the world of music, Volker Busch decided to study medicine in the early 90s. Head and mind soon set the tone: He found the brain more exciting than the ankle. Volker Busch became a specialist in neurology, and later also a specialist in psychiatry and psychotherapy.

Health prevention and performance maintenance became his passion: What keeps the brain in top form? What makes people perform (better)? What motivates and inspires us at work and in everyday life? What keeps the soul stable? How can we lead a happy life despite psychological stress? What positive influence do lifestyle, nutrition and exercise have on people who suffer from stress and tension in their professional or private lives?

We talked to him about what he talks about in his lectures, what makes him stand out as a keynote speaker or trainer, and what he wants to convey to his listeners.

Volker Busch in interview:

Premium Speakers: What are the core subjects of your keynote speeches?

Volker Busch: I take my audience on a journey through the exciting world of mind and brain – with lots of humor, fascinating insights, and with direct transfer to our professional and private lives. My focus are the areas of health, performance, motivation and inspiration.

I will give you valuable strategies and concrete tips for the road: How do we keep our brain healthy and powerful in highly dynamic times? What motivates us and how do we achieve our goals? And what do we need to live a satisfying and happy life?

Premium Speakers: Which audiance or which branch do you reach with your speech?

Volker Busch: My target audience:

  • Primarily employees and managers of companies (all industries)
  • general population
  • medical personnel

Premium Speakers: Are you a PREMIUM SPEAKER? Where do you get your insights from?

Volker Busch: I love to speak – and to move people!

My specialist qualification is based on “talking medicine” (psychiatry). For almost 20 years I have been communicating with people in difficult situations and motivating them to lead a healthier lifestyle and a self-responsible and successful life.

As head of a neuroscience research group at the University of Regensburg, my team and I have been investigating the connections between health, stress, emotions and life success for years.

For many years, I have been sharing my knowledge and experience in the form of keynotes/lectures, seminars, and more recently, videos and podcasts, helping leaders, employees, achieve greater brain health, motivation, and inspiration.

In July 2019, I was awarded the CSP Speaker designation in Denver, Colorado. The “Certified Speaking Professional CSP®” a global quality award for professional speakers, awarded by the National Speaker Association.

Premium Speakers: What will be in the future? Does «time» play an important role in your work?

Volker Busch: Information and time are the most desirable commodities of the 21st century. We use time as a currency: I give “time” to one thing, I get “xy” in return.

In a world of growing options, we will have to learn to manage this currency better. Time is not inexhaustible, and our options remain limited. That’s what makes time so precious.

The older we get, the more we recognize the value of time, and the more we want to exchange things back for mor time. Living a full and happy life can mean remembering that – even before we get older.

Premium Speakers: Tell us your life motto? What do you want to give your listeners to take with them?

Volker Busch: Be focused on your way!

Because attention enables us to perceive accurately and precisely, to have a good memory, to focus on what is important and to enjoy the beautiful things in life more deeply.

Attention is the greatest gift we can give ourselves and those around us.

Thank you very much, Volker Busch, for the interview!
