As a world record holder and extreme swimmer, she continually steps out of her comfort zone in remarkable ways. She is also a business psychologist and ICF-certified coach who has developed her own company, Out of Comfort Zone.
Deniz Kayadelen holds an M.Sc. in business psychology and has over 12 years of experience as a consultant in talent management and unlocking potential. At the same time, she has more than 20 years as an extreme swimmer and a swimming champion, with numerous national and international awards.
Her latest achievement is breaking the world record for the highest swim on Earth, swimming at 6,405 meters altitude in the Himalayas with the Madswimmers team. She accomplished this feat in water at 3.7°C and an outside temperature of -6°C, wearing only a swimsuit. A year earlier, she conquered the English Channel in a solo swim of 15 hours and 8 minutes in 16°C cold water. She is a five-time world champion in ice swimming and has also swum from Robben Island to Cape Town in 12°C extreme cold water, infested with great white sharks and toxic jellyfish, as part of a relay team.

I don’t compete primarily with others; I compete with myself. My training efforts give me a growth mindset to be better. I know what I could do in the past, but I don’t know what I am capable of in the future. That means that I can do so much more.
