What a refreshing conversation with Kira Ortmann at the Marriott Hotel in Berlin. Over latte macchiato and fine tea, we talked about Kira’s start on SAT. 1 breakfast television as well as moderating conferences and events.
Kira Ortmann studied media economics and management. She began her journalistic career at SAT.1 Regional in Hamburg. She then worked as a junior editor for Sat.1 breakfast television and the early evening programme Endlich Feierabend! From January 2019 to December 2020, she attended Axel Springer’s journalism school. Kira Ortmann has been working as a reporter and presenter at Bild since January 2021. Since 2021, she has hosted the red carpet for the aid organisation Ein Herz für Kinder.
Kira is already a pro in front of the camera and on stage. With her fresh writing and clever questions, she conducts excellent interviews that go down well with the audience. She loves being challenged intellectually and the bigger the tasks, the more commitment she puts into the job she loves. Variety is great, boredom is stagnation.
We had arranged to talk for an hour. At some point, after almost two hours, we unfortunately had to end the chat because I had to get a taxi and continue on to the airport. The conversation with Kira was definitely a lot of fun and I’m already looking forward to seeing her again.
