Nele Würzbach is a versatile and dedicated journalist with extensive experience both in front of and behind the camera, as well as on stage.
With a quick grasp of situations and a wide range of interests, she is able to react flexibly to any situation. She feels especially at home in live moderation, whether at major political events, sports competitions, or on red carpets. Her passion for live formats on television or stage shapes her professional career.
Nele Würzbach Reporter & Presenter
Since July 2021, Nele Würzbach has been working as a presenter and editor at WELT / N24 GmbH. She moderates the daily news live segment, as well as the foreign affairs magazine “WELT Reporter,” and is responsible for various special programs, including those covering the wars in Ukraine and Israel, the French elections, and the 20th anniversary of 9/11. As part of her extensive coverage, she also reported live from Washington and North Carolina on the US elections in 2024.
Equal rights is a cause close to her heart. Since 2024, she has been hosting the “Frauen 100” podcast, which focuses on issues surrounding gender equality and women’s rights. Additionally, she is actively involved with “Start-up Teens,” promoting young people and their ideas.
From July 2018 to June 2021, Nele Würzbach was a presenter and responsible editor at BILD. There, she played a key role in the development of BILD Live, both in front of and behind the camera. She moderated breaking news programs, major political events like the Corona summits and the US elections in 2020, red carpets, and significant sports events such as the Women’s Football European Championship in 2017 in the Netherlands and the 2018 World Cup.
Between June and October 2019, she worked at the BILD US office in Los Angeles and San Francisco. Prior to that, from April 2014 to June 2016, she worked as a freelance editor for BILD Berlin and B.Z., focusing on the show and lifestyle & culture sections.
Nele Würzbach completed her traineeship at the Axel Springer Academy from July 2016 to June 2018, where she and her team won the Nannen Prize and the European Digital Media Award for the project “sachor jetzt.” During her training, she worked in both the show section of BILD newspaper and the video section.
Nele Würzbach studied law at the Westphalian Wilhelms University and political science at the University of Bremen and the Free University of Berlin from October 2012 to June 2016.
She is fluent in German and English and has basic knowledge of Spanish.
