Her career has been shaped by transformative experiences: after studying journalism and English at the University of Leipzig, Janka Kreißl worked in various sectors of the communications industry – from PR and marketing agencies to technical documentation and corporate communications.
A formative period of her career was her time as an officer on cruise ships, where she worked for almost three years in a challenging, international environment – embedded in strictly hierarchical emergency and crisis structures where defined roles, clear decision-making processes and reliable communication under time pressure are essential. This experience continues to shape her approach to crisis communication to this day: resolute, clear and yet empathetic – with a focus on building trust and winning people over.
