After completing his studies in the United States and while pursuing his doctorate and postdoctoral qualification in Frankfurt, he worked for ten years as a banker and management consultant on national and international projects. Since 2008, he has been a professor of personal finance at the House of Finance at Goethe University Frankfurt. He served as chair of the BaFin Advisory Board, was a member of the Stock Market Experts Commission at the Federal Ministry of Finance, and currently advises the World Economic Forum and the European Commission, among others.
