They must be intrinsically motivated to achieve better results. Michael Schulz shares his insights on how to get better sales results in keynotes and workshops. We talked to him about his speaking topics, target groups and future prospects.
Michael Schulz in an interview:
1. What are the core subjects of your keynote speeches?
Life is not «for sale.» How can you generate optimal sales volume in times when customers become more demanding and where all information can be checked online at any time? Why top-performance can only be achieved if – beside strong sales skills – your framework of values stands on solid ground and why emotions are the real decision makers in sales. For sustainable success, passion and intrinsic motivation become more and more important.
Generation change in sales and in companies create new challenges and need solutions. What makes generation y and z tick? And how can weg et a «match» between young and old relating to new work? How will leadership look like in he future?
2. Which audiance or which branch do you reach with your speech?
As Sales Manger I address my keynotes to sales forces, sales managers, CEO of small and medium sized companies but also towards junior executives in leadership and young academics who gain their first expereiences as executives. As a «bridge builder» between generations I motivate and guide gen y and z and prepare them for theis tasks and challenges in sales. All this is driven by my passion and fun.
3. Are you a PREMIUM SPEAKER? Where do you get your insights from?
During the last 30 years I have been working successfully in sales and management positions – first in tourism and later on in the mobility industry. In the last 25 years I co-developed the stairlift market in Germany so that stairlifts are considered to be «furniture for the elderly» now. During this time I established myself as an expert for «emotional selling» and «leadership and motivation in direct sales». Furthermore I set up, formed and developed sales teams. From many biographies of customers I know how important storytelling is and how every individual can benefit if you listen to each other cross-generationally in ordert o get action ideas.
4. What will be in the future? Does «time» play an important role in your work?
We live in very dynamic times where quick evaluations and decisions must be made quite often. General conditions, circumstances and trends change rapidly. Therefore it is on us to keep calm to make the right decisions for the future and to prevent that we are the driven ones. One of my mentors said: “The only constant is the change.” In sales the baby boomers will retire within the next 5-15 years and the suceeding generation will implement new Standards, working methods and wishes. Time will play an important role: it will be much More important to do the right things instead of doing the thins right. Burt as an optimist I am convinced that we will manage this transformation.
5. Tell us your life motto? What do you want to give your listeners to take with them?
Your life is not for sale! – your heart dreams are not negotiable!
Don´t let anyone tell you how to live and what to do. And especially: don´t let anyone suppress your own desires. Do the things that are important to you “today” and don´t postpone anything until tomorrow. The challenges around us are diverse. It is therefore more important that we do not allow ourselves to be restricted by them regardless of whether they are in the family, in relationships, friendships or at work. May everyone find their purpose and motivation, which spurs them on to be happy.
