Felix Hofmann Lecture topic: The psychology of innovation
“My passion is the role of psychology in innovation. How can we use emotions and irrationality for more innovation and bolder decisions?”
Most people prefer the status quo, avoid risks and often behave irrationally. Inaction is the norm in many situations. All of this makes innovation difficult. But there is another way: we can also make innovation the norm. The key to this is called reframing. Reframing makes it possible to change what people perceive as risky and regrettable. In this way, we can make people more curious, creative and courageous.
In this talk, Felix Hofmann shows how psychology can be cleverly used to change the norm and promote innovation in organisations.
