Gabriela Amgarten spent some twelve years moderating prime-time shows for Schweizer Fernsehen (Swiss Television). She was particularly well-known in the 1990s for the quiz show Risiko, which made her one of the most popular presenters in German-speaking Switzerland.
Until the end of 2010, Gabriela Amgarten was Head of Entertainment at Schweizer Fernsehen.
She was responsible for over 100 members of staff, with whom she produced programmes such as Die grössten Schweizer Hits, Giacobbo/ Müller, SF bi de Lüt, Landfrauenküche and Über Stock und Stein. She held management positions at SRF for over 16 years and was a member of the Executive Committee, responsible for the strategic management of the company, from 2005.
Before embarking on a career in television, Gabriela Amgarten worked as a journalist and moderator in print media and radio.
As the proprietor of amgarten GmbH, she offers services in the areas of presentation skills, coaching and organisational development in addition to moderation. She also lectures on Crisis Communication and Presenting to Microphone and Camera at PHZ (University of Teacher Education, Central Switzerland), PHW Business School and MAZ – the Swiss School of Journalism.
