After graduating from high school, Ulrike von der Groeben studied German and history. This was followed by a traineeship at Radio Luxemburg. Already during her traineeship at RTL radio, the likeable Mönchengladbach native took over the co-presentation of the “Sportshop” on RTL Plus on Saturdays. She also presented the daily sports programme on the RTL Plus early-morning magazine “Guten Morgen Deutschland” until she moved to RTL aktuell as editor and presenter in 1989.
There, alongside RTL editor-in-chief Peter Kloeppel, Ulrike von der Groeben presents the daily sports block competently and entertainingly. Her fresh and charming style is also in demand in the channel’s entertainment department. For example, she hosted the “big IQ test” alongside Günther Jauch several times and the “big German test” together with Hape Kerkeling.
