Julia Kleine, a former competitive athlete in the field of alpine skiing, was practically born with an interest in sports journalism by her father, who was himself a sports journalist. Instead of Maya the Bee, she preferred to watch World Championships, European Championships and Olympic Games on television as a child.

Whether it’s football, athletics or winter sports, Julia Kleine is virtually at home in every kind of sport. And so her career as a sports journalist was predetermined early on. Today’s presenter, reporter, speaker, editor and podcaster with a passion, she studied media and communication sciences at the German Sport University in Cologne after her Abitur, before joining SAT.1 NRW as a reporter and journalist after a traineeship.
SKY Sport News HD quickly took notice of the attractive blonde because of her fresh and charming manner and brought her to Unterföhring, where she worked as a reporter and editor for “SKY Sport News” from then on. After two years, she moved to WDR as a freelance presenter, where from then on she regularly presented the “Lokalzeit Ruhr” and the “Lokalzeit Köln” competently and entertainingly, as well as WDR live formats such as the “Kölner Lichter”, the “Köln Marathon” and the “New Year’s Eve Fireworks”.

Julia is also active as a podcaster. She has been the host of the official “Sportschau Wintersport-Podcast” since 2022, and has been producing her own podcast, “hICEzeit”, together with Fabian Jedwabny since 2020, as well as individual podcasts on various topics for companies.
