About Dr. Dietmar Hager
Even as a child, he was magically drawn to the starry sky – he observed the Milky Way with an old pair of binoculars and learned to interpret the language of the cosmos at the Kepler Observatory in Linz. Later, his path led him to medicine, where he was as fascinated by the precision of anatomy as he once was by the structure of the universe.
Today, Dr Hager stands at the interface of science, philosophy and visual magic: he has developed his own observatories and a globally unique telescope, cooperates with the European Southern Observatory (ESO), is a Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society and has received multiple awards from NASA for his deep space images.
In his lectures, he combines cutting-edge astronomy with ancient mythology, scientific depth and medical thinking – visually stunning, inspiring and always with a focus on people.
