Bernd Preuschoff looks back on more than 30 years of experience as a dance athlete and trainer, but has also been successfully active as a digital executive for over 20 years, during which time he has won several awards on the stages of Germany for the successful work of his teams.
In his previous role, he was Chief Digital Officer of the uvex group and also served as CEO of the uvex Direct-2-Consumer group (UD2C), uvex’s fourth subgroup, which is responsible for all of the group’s digital Direct-2-Consumer-related business activities.
Lecture topic Bernd Preuschoff:
- Defying gravity – Business leadership through the eyes of a dancer
What does dancing have to do with leadership in times of change & transformation? What can leaders learn from people who do “art as professional sports discipline”? Why is it the human being that makes the difference? And which myths about digital transformation and leadership development are above all: namely myths?
45 minutes full of music, interaction and insights into experiences from work and sport ensure a dancing and moving experience the audience will remember for a long time and with a smile.
His book of the same name, which is also available as an audiobook (German), is not only a tribute to dancing, but above all to the appreciative leadership of people. Because the more it is about achieving creative and innovative goals, especially in modern digital times, the more obvious the parallels between art as a competitive sport and performance in management become. Operating successfully in a permanently changing, technology-driven world places new demands on managers and challenges them more than ever before as people and personalities – so why not learn from those for whom true emotion, successful leadership and light-footed movement are elementary components of their own performance? Narrated by an accomplished connoisseur of both worlds, the book is an invitation to every decision-maker in companies to experience their own responsibility and, above all, their own possibilities for action through the eyes of a dancer. Filled with anecdotes from the author’s life and his rich professional and dance experience, the book opens the reader’s path to lightness, smiles and humanly valuable interaction: leadership as it should be!

“Dear Bernd, you are probably one of the best speakers we have ever had at Confare GmbH – Together. Better. Do. Stage. We are very proud to count you to the Confare Family and to our friends!”
Michael Ghezzo, Owner & GF Confare
“With upbeat music and good-mood dance interludes, Bernd Preuschoff got mentees and mentors fit for the new round of cross mentoring in the Nuremberg Metropolitan Region.
The most important message for managers was: listen well to recognise the “rhythm” of employees and accompany them to their best performance. Super – thank you, dear Bernd!”

“I had the honour and pleasure to experience your keynote at SACS 2022 in Frankfurt. I was and am deeply impressed, even though I could not initially place the title in the event. However, you managed to captivate, involve and move us as an audience – physically and emotionally. With this topic, which is certainly not naturally accessible to many men, you took a pleasant path to touch us without becoming cheesy. Thank you for the entertaining and thought-provoking presentation – it clearly stands out among the many keynotes I have already had the pleasure of experiencing and will remain in my memory for a long time.”
Maik Riedel, Head of Software Asset Management, Fielmann AG
