Who is Jerry Michalski?

Jerry Michalski spent over a decade as an analyst at the forefront of the tech revolution, including as managing editor of Esther Dyson’s influential tech newsletter Release 1.0. He advised companies on disruptive technologies such as AI and was always on the lookout for meaningful digital innovation. As early as the mid-1990s, he recognised that the term ‘consumer’ was contributing to many social problems – and that trust was a possible way out.

Fascinated by the potential of collective knowledge networking, he began digitally mapping knowledge over 27 years ago – using TheBrain mind mapping software. Today, his collection of over 615,000 nodes is the largest of its kind in the world – publicly accessible and a living example of his thinking.

His vision: when we design systems based on trust rather than control, innovation, cooperation and long-term success emerge.
