Klaus Wellershoff is the CEO of Wellershoff & Partners Ltd., an international consultancy firm that specializes in economic and financial market analysis, cognitive risk management and family governance.
He began his career in the bank training program at the Cologne private bank Sal. Oppenheim & Cie. Subsequently he studied economics and business administration, receiving his doctorate from the University of St. Gallen.
During his studies, he was appointed Visiting Fellow at the Department of Economics at Harvard University. Since 2011 he is Honorary Professor of applied economics at the University of St. Gallen and President of the Board of Directors of the Institute of Economics.
From 1995 to 2009, Klaus Wellershoff worked for UBS, serving as Chief Economist starting in 1997. As of 2003, he led the research department for the UBS Wealth Management and Business Banking division. He was also the Head of the Investment Committee for this division of the bank.
Klaus Wellershoff is a member of the Board of Directors of Schindler Holding AG and Member of the Board of Trustees of the World Demographic & Ageing Forum.
