Reto Lipp is one of Switzerland’s best-known business journalists and presenters.
For 18 years, he shaped business reporting on Swiss broadcaster SRF: initially as the host of the business programme ‘Eco’, and later as the presenter of its successor programme, ‘Eco Talk’. At the end of 2025, after a total of 1,758 programmes and almost 900 hours in front of the camera, he stepped down from SRF’s regular programming. However, he remains closely involved in presenting.
Reto Lipp’s particular strength lies in his ability to explain complex economic, financial and political issues in a clear and precise manner. Whether it be the financial crisis, the Swiss franc shock or the collapse of Credit Suisse: he contextualises developments, asks the crucial questions and facilitates discussions that provide clarity for a wide audience.
As a presenter, Reto Lipp combines journalistic rigour with in-depth business expertise, extensive stage experience and a natural stage presence. He confidently hosts congresses, business conferences, panel discussions and in-depth conversations with leading figures from the worlds of business, politics and society. In doing so, he listens carefully, probes at just the right moments and keeps even complex discussions clearly on track.
Reto Lipp moderates:

His professional career began at what was then Radio Z, where he worked as a business editor and later as a member of the editorial management team. He subsequently headed the finance section of the HandelsZeitung. In 2000, he launched the Swiss investors’ magazine Stocks and served as its editor-in-chief for six years. After a spell at UBS Wealth Management, the economics graduate moved to SRF in 2007.
Alongside his live presenting, Reto Lipp continues to produce and host the ‘ComSumCast’. In this audio and video podcast, he talks to influential figures from the Swiss media and communications industry. His curiosity and his love of good conversation remain his main driving forces.
In 2011, Reto Lipp was named Business Journalist of the Year for his journalistic work. In 2024, he received the award once again in the business category.
Even after leaving Swiss television, Reto Lipp remains available for selected presenting engagements, conferences and panel discussions.
