Norbert König was born in 1958 in Deichsende. After graduating from high school in 1977, he studied journalism, American studies and sports, graduating in 1985 with a master’s degree. He then worked in the sports department of Sender Freies Berlin until 1987.

In the meantime, he also worked as a presenter for Havelwelle Berlin and for Fußball-Woche. In 1987, the likeable man from Lower Saxony switched to ZDF. Since then he has worked there as a presenter, interviewer and reporter and stands out above all for his expertise in winter sports, athletics, tennis, fencing, football and table tennis.
On Sundays, he alternates with Andrea Petkovic and Rudi Cerne as presenter of the ZDF-SPORTreportage and presents the sports news in the news studio in “heute” and in the ZDF-Mittagsmagazin.
In addition to sports reporting, Norbert König is a regular event presenter for clients such as PricewaterhouseCoopers, IFA, Viessmann, Hansgrohe, various ministries, the German Sports Aid Foundation, the Sepp Herberger Foundation and many others.
