Siv Helen Hesjedal is a professional futurist, sociologist, and development planner with close to 20 years’ international experience in foresight, public policy and regional development.

She has helped numerous public sector leaders develop future-proof strategies and guided them through organizational change processes. As a passionate and experienced futures researcher, she uses her skills of asking the right questions and looking at alternative futures to successfully shape business models for the next 15 years.

After almost two decades in South Africa, she now works in Europe and supports the futures research of the Thinktank Themis Foresight with her experience and passion from Norway.

Siv Helen Hesjedal – Futurologist

Siv Helen Hesjedal works across sectors and industries and her passion is using futures thinking and foresight to ask deeper questions, imagine alternative futures and facilitate co-creation in the public, knowledge, and non-profit sectors.

Siv has studied Development Studies, Sociology and Futures Studies and has an interdisciplinary approach to her work and speeches. Futures studies is all about scanning and synthesizing large amounts of information to find signals and patterns of change.

In total, she brings 25 years of experience in development work, community organizing and leadership, among others founding the the Sinempumelelo Reading Club, training and policy advocacy work or chairing Save the Children’s Youth organization in Norway.
