Omid Nouripour is Vice-President of the German Bundestag and one of the best-known politicians in Alliance 90/The Greens. He has been a member of the German Bundestag since 2006; from 2022 to 2024, he served as his party’s federal chairman. In March 2025, he was elected Vice-President of the Bundestag.

Politics, football and a clear stance
Omid Nouripour was born in Tehran in 1975 and moved to Frankfurt am Main with his family at the age of 13. Today, he describes himself with conviction as a “Frankfurter Bubb”. The city, its diversity and its football continue to shape him to this day.
He is a passionate football fan, a lover of hip-hop and the honorary chair of Eintracht Frankfurt’s Sustainability Advisory Board. He also founded the Eintracht fan club ‘bundesAdler’ in the German Bundestag. Through his podcast ‘Frieden & Eintracht’, he regularly hosts socio-political discussions. Furthermore, he is the author of several books on socio-political topics.
