Rüdiger von Fritsch was German Ambassador in Moscow from 2014 to 2019, and before that, from 2010 to 2014, German Ambassador in Warsaw. Since 2020, he is a partner of the consulting agency “Berlin Global Advisors”.

Rüdiger von Fritsch studied History and German Studies in Erlangen and Bonn (scholarship holder of the German National Academic Foundation). From 1984 he worked in the Foreign Service, with initial postings in Warsaw and Nairobi as well as at the German EU representation in Brussels. From 1999 to 2004 he headed the planning staff of the German President, and from 2004 to 2007 von Fritsch was Vice President of the Federal Intelligence Service (BND). From 2007 to 2010, he headed the Economic Department of the Federal Foreign Office and was the German Sherpa’s representative at the G8 negotiations.
