Prof. Dr Peter G. Kirchschläger is an internationally renowned expert on ethics, artificial intelligence, human rights and social responsibility.

He is Professor of Theological Ethics and Director of the Institute for Social Ethics (ISE) at the University of Lucerne, as well as a Visiting Professor at ETH Zurich and the ETH AI Centre.

His work centres on the question of how technological innovation can be shaped in such a way that it serves humanity. Peter G. Kirchschläger analyses the opportunities offered by data-driven systems, but is equally clear in identifying the risks they pose to human dignity, freedom, democracy and society.

Can artificial intelligence take on responsibility? Are machines actually intelligent? Can they develop consciousness or emotions? And who bears responsibility when automated systems discriminate, manipulate or make wrong decisions?

In his lectures, Peter G. Kirchschläger combines academic depth with current challenges from the worlds of business, politics and society. He demonstrates why responsibility cannot be delegated to technology and why companies, executives and political institutions need clear ethical guidelines.

He does not view ethics as an obstacle to innovation. Rather, it provides guidance, strengthens trust and helps organisations make decisions that are sustainable in the long term. His talks are aimed at companies, decision-makers, associations, international organisations, political institutions and NGOs.

Peter G. Kirchschläger loves speaking to and with people, challenging them with critical thinking and inspiring them to take action for a better world.

His central message: Through our actions today, we are deciding what the future will be.
