Influencer Marketing is a discipline of marketing that is increasingly gaining in importance. In this form of marketing, well known personalities, so-called influencers, are used for marketing communications. These influencers then serve as a form of multiplier to gain people’s attention for a particular brand. Positive qualities in the influencers are automatically transferred onto the brand by the (potential) customers thereby giving it increased value. A famous football player, for example, can increase the sales figures for a shampoo even though, as is generally known, football and shampoo don’t actually have much to do with one another.
